Google’s Core Web Vitals (CWV) are a set of metrics designed to measure the real-world user experience of a website, playing a critical role in search ranking. The three key metrics are: Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), measuring loading performance; First Input Delay (FID, soon Interaction to Next Paint or INP), measuring interactivity; and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), measuring visual stability. Improving LCP often involves optimizing images and server response time, while boosting FID/INP requires minimizing main-thread work and reducing JavaScript execution. Maintaining a low CLS means reserving space for dynamically loaded content.
